Latest research of the University of St. Andrews, England showed that when being physically ' exposed ' to the opposite sex, the skin surface temperature of the weaker sex will increase, especially in the face and chest area. This 'hot' feeling will make them uneasy and anxious in their bodies.

'Some women have a marked temperature change. They can increase to a degree, '' said researcher Amanda Hahn on LiveScience.

Normally, face temperature will increase when stressed, when feared or angry. However, Hahn's team wanted to determine how other emotions would affect face temperature. Thus, they conducted a face-to-face scan of two groups of girls: one with exposure to the same sex (including touching the arms, palms, face and chest) and a contactless group.

The results showed that, when touched, the average skin temperature of volunteers would increase by one tenth. The face and chest skin increased the most. The research team re-conducted the experiment but replaced the contact with men. The result has changed markedly: the temperature has tripled compared to the first time.

Many volunteers are unaware of the skin's reaction when asked. Only about a quarter of young women feel a change in their emotions, Hahn said.

However, Hahn believes that finding the mechanism of response of skin temperature to stress and emotional agents will help scientists develop lie detectors more accurately. They will also be able to delve into the excitement of women in the next phase.
