Tram Chim reached 7 standards under the Ramsar Convention

Tram Chim-Dong Thap satisfies 7 of 9 standards of Ramsar international convention on wetlands. This is one of the eight most important bird conservation areas in Vietnam. Unique habitat in Indochina.

All 700,000 hectares of Dong Thap Muoi were converted into agricultural land. Tram Chim National Park has a total area of ​​7,588 ha, the largest surviving piece with unique habitat in Indochina. Tram Chim has a variety of soil types, representing Dong Thap Muoi. At the same time, this is one of 8 most important bird regions of Vietnam. Many birds are threatened. In particular, the Sarus Crane is at risk of extinction globally and nationally.

According to MWBP data, at Tram Chim, 32 species of birds have conservation value, 12 species in Vietnam Red Book are being preserved such as white winged geese, kite crests, fire kites, brown-backed pigs, eagles black, stinging fire, golden dragon dragon .

Tram Chim is a place to maintain biodiversity for the whole of Dong Thap Muoi. Fauna and flora species here include 231 species of birds, 191 species of plants. Nearly 3,000 hectares of melaleuca and 1,000 hectares of rice, lotus, gun, grass . are being protected here.
