The tsunami appeared in Japan on March 25 after a 7.1-magnitude Ritcher earthquake struck offshore. The earthquake rocked the coast of Sea of Japan (Central) and one could feel it in Tokyo. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.
Tsunami warning was launched against Ishikawa prefecture of Japan. According to the latest news, a small tsunami about 15cm high hit the northern coast of Japan.
According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, the center of the earthquake is 300km northwest of Tokyo, at a depth of 50km beneath the sea, off the Nono Peninsula. The earthquake occurred at 7:44 am (Hanoi time), off the west coast of Honshu, Japan's largest island.
In Nanao, a city of about 60,000 people on the Nono Peninsula, ambulance units receive a lot of calls to help those who suffer burns and injuries.
A local official for NHK TV station said he saw cracks in the road. "The books fall off the price and that's the worst shake I've ever felt ," the official said.
