Uncommon images: Mares rearing three orphan sheep

The photos show a 10-year-old mare who has instinctively awakened to be a mother to three orphaned sheep shortly after birth, caring for and nursing them like her own.

According to British news agency South West News , farm owner Becky Popham, 33, of Somerset, England, said the horse named Heidi had started taking care of three lambs after their mother died and even feed them.

Three orphan sheep were rescued by Ms. Popham from a farmer after their mother died.
