Lieutenant Colonel Tepvisit Potigengrid, Deputy Chief of Police of Bangrak District of Bangkok, said: 'The purpose of this project is to respond to the Thai King's call on the use of biofuels to save budget and reducing environmental pollution'.

According to Thai police, with only one domestic machine, they can produce 450 liters of bio-oil per day at a cost of 7 baht / liter (US $ 0.2 / liter), saving 23 baht / liter ( about 6.6 USD / liter).

According to Mr. Tepvisit, Bangrak police used this machine to produce 150 liters of oil per day and saved 110 USD per day. He said the project has been in place for months, and now this new biofuel accounts for 50% of the energy used for local police cars he is in charge of. He said: 'Among a total of 10 police cars at our station, 6 are running on bio-oil'.

Of the 88 police stations in the capital, Bangkok, 8 stations have used biofuels from this project. A police spokesman in Bangkok said that if all 3,500 police cars were run on biodiesel, the annual savings would amount to 200 million baht (about $ 6 million).

Mr. Tepvisit said there would be a solution to take advantage of about 4.7 million liters of oil removed annually in Bangkok to produce bio-oil.

According to Thai police estimates, by the end of this year, 80 of the 1,500 police stations nationwide will use this bio-oil for fleets.
