(Photo: Wageningen) Insects generally have a characteristic that likes light. The main light receptor in insects is their compound eyes. After the dual eyes receive light, their bodies produce a certain voltage (ERG). The light emitted from the LED device after passing through a filter has been projected into the insect's double eye. The wavelength of the filter plate used in the experiment is about 400 - 700, a total of 14 wavelengths, the intensity of light is about 0.5W / m 2 , and so on during the time since light is projected until it stops, producing some ERG waves.

Conducting analysis of these types of waves by computer, it is possible to see the dependence and interplay between the excitation light and ERG wavelength. Special LED light devices are built based on the excitation performance of light with ERG waves. In addition, LED also saves energy, because this device only consumes 180W when running on electricity, and can also take advantage of solar energy.

According to GS. Ping Jian, although we have not been able to identify what insects like light and hate what light, but we can still be certain that, yellow fluorescence is extremely effective for the room. except for harmful insects.
