Use magnesium to reduce vehicle weight and save fuel
To reduce weight in future cars, researchers from the Ministry of Natural Resources (RNCan) recommend magnesium. A lightweight car saves money and limits carbon dioxide emissions. For every 10% reduction in vehicle weight, fuel is saved from 5 to 8%.

Scientists at CANMET Material Technology Laboratory of RNCan have cooperated with US Automotive Materials Partneship and China Magnesium Center to study the use of magnesium to improve design and improvement. performance of cars.
They used this metal in the previous part of the new model. Magnesium is considered the lightest in industrial metals. It is 33% lighter than aluminum and 75% less than steel used in normal car species. It can reduce weight by 60% in front of a car, about 40kg.
The redesigned front part does not affect the safety of the occupants in the event of an accident. Magnesium has a high durability similar to steel and can be reused. The cost of designing and manufacturing magnesium vehicles is almost the same as steel.
