Use the strength of people to exercise and filter lake water

The National Institute of Water and Environmental Irrigation Teams have the idea to turn human liberated energy into exercise into mechanical energy to clean lake water.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Anh, head of the project research team named Green Health, said that every day, going to the Thao Thao park area in Hanoi, she sees more and more people come to exercise, but the state of the water The lake is severely polluted, directly affecting practitioners.

"During the exercise, people release a certain amount of energy. So the team came up with the idea of combining human activity during exercise with the treatment of lake water. with a system of exercise machines combined with the process of treating water from flower banana plants, ' Ngoc Anh said.

Integrated system model.

The first part of the system is an exercise machine that includes hand and foot movement tools with circular movements - cycling, up and down movement - pulling, pushing. These training machines are integrated with mechanical pumps, and the pool water is pumped into the filter tank. This filter tank is designed to float on the surface of the lake, ensuring the beauty of the park, not occupying the lakeside area. Lake water when passing through the filter system will meet the required standards.

"With this system, people who exercise can both improve their health, participate directly in the treatment of the quality of lake water, and save energy or energy costs to pump the water through the lake. The results of the project will be a premise to study and complete the methods in the treatment of increasingly polluted ponds and lakes , ' stressed Ngoc Anh.

In Hanoi every morning and evening, there are many people walking and exercising around the lakes. The practical applicability of this idea is appreciated by experts.

The research has just been awarded by the British Council one of the 6 creative awards for the outstanding environment.
