Chyao is currently a high school student, she is working at the laboratory of chemistry professor Kenneth J. Balkus, Jr. at the University of Texas, Dallas has compiled a remote-controlled active nano product that can attack cancer cells.

This treatment has been used to treat skin cancer, but Dr. Balkus wants to apply it to treat malignant tumors in the human body.

Infrared light can be partially absorbed into the human body and emits light on the active Nano, releasing a form of oxygen capable of destroying cancer cells.

This research could be said to be promising, Chyao shared that she wanted to become a good chemistry professor like Dr. Balkus.
