Video about the birth of a giraffe

The video recorded at Gaia Zoo in Kerkrade, the Netherlands revealed rare images, little is known about how the giraffes give birth.

The giraffe, "Eura," gave birth on June 20 at Gaia Zoo, after 15 months of pregnancy. During the labor process, the partner and also the "author" of the fetus in the abdomen are always present and closely watch Eura.

Because giraffes are the tallest creatures on the planet, their children will fall from a height of about 2 meters to the ground when they are born. Fortunately, the baby giraffe in the video does not seem to suffer any major damage, apart from the slightly frightened appearance when leaving the womb quite fiercely.

Giraffa camelopardalis, an African-American, mammal-sized mammal. The gestation period of this organism usually lasts from 400 to 460 days. Normally, mother giraffes produce only 1 baby, but in rare cases can be a twin.

The mother giraffes are standing, with her baby often head, then the front legs first. This means, the giraffe must break the amniotic membrane before falling to the floor and severing the umbilical cord.

After giving birth, giraffes will take care of the baby before helping him to stand up. Most baby giraffes reach a height of 1.8 meters and can run in just a few hours after birth.
