The bike is powered by a fuel-powered engine, Hydrogen Peroxide, mounted on the back of the car designed by Exotic Thermo Engineering. The speed of 262.3km / h broke a previous world record with a rocket mounted bike of 242.6km / h.
However, Gissy was not the one who achieved the fastest cycling speed of all time. A Dutch cyclist Fred Rompelberg, in his 50s in 1995, got a few miles faster than Gissy (268.8km / h) but was pulled behind a car.
