Sweden is testing the system to broadcast FM radio signals from an ambulance. The main purpose is to warn car drivers, asking them to give way to the ambulance behind. This system can disable all music playback devices in the car, while giving audio and message notifications to the driver.
The system was developed due to an increase in accidents between ambulances and vehicles. Modern cars are so soundproofed that the driver cannot hear the siren. The product was designed by the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology.
