Video: While fishing, a man caught a fish with a strange shape
A resident was extremely confused when he caught a fish with a strange shape in southern Thailand.
Winit Pokting, from Satun province, Thailand, was fishing in a canal near his home on May 11, when he caught a strange pink-red creature.
The animal was pink and had glass-like teeth.
This elongated animal has a long body, small eyes and a mouth containing glass-like teeth. Winit said he caught the creature at low tide and raised it in a water tank at home.
He said: " This is the first time I have seen such a fish. I asked around and no one knew what it was. At first I thought it was an eel, but normal eels don't look like it." at all ".
Thanompong Buabanjong, an expert at the Satun Coastal Fisheries Research and Development Center, identified the fish as a bearded goby - a type of fish commonly found in mangrove forests or muddy estuaries.
They are cave-dwelling species, often residing in caves under the river during the day and emerging at night to feed.
"They are rarely seen because they tend to avoid people's boats and fishing lines," said Thanompong .
The bearded goby is a species of goby native to the Indo-Pacific region. They are commonly found in estuaries and coastal waters, and are sometimes eaten as a delicacy in Thailand.
