The big Japanese corporations NTT Data and Nissan Motor yesterday introduced an electronic card warning system for drivers when children crossed the road.
The device will signal the driver when the presence of children on the street. It also allows children to signal when in danger by clicking on the card that is equipped on the person. The equipment is expected to be field tested from December 2005 to March 2006 in Yokohama, southwest of Tokyo. However, this device shows that there are still many limitations due to high cost and required to be equipped for both the road and the driver.
