Why can birds fly forever without being tired?
The frigatebird bird (scientific name Fregata magnificens ) or commonly called war bird, lives a lot in South America, especially the Galapagos Islands can fly continuously for 94 hours and pass the distance of 261 km just to search for a meal.
Why can they fly forever without being tired? According to experts from the French National Science Center, almost during the flight, war birds only glide and their energy is almost zero.
Scientists believe that war birds do it thanks to the extremely effective gliding ability: they almost don't lose any energy for flapping wings. This ability is of vital importance because they often feed in tropical waters, where food is very rare.
The huge wingspan has helped them gain enough lift to wander like that: the distance between the ends of the wings is 2.4 meters long, but their bodies weigh less than 1.5 kg.
