Why can't people leave 14 days of isolation yet?

Some people who come into contact with nCoV infected people during the quarantine period, suspects infected but have no symptoms or await testing, are forced to continue isolation.

Doctor Nguyen Tri Dung, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control, on 3/4, said the quarantine gatherers can go home when they have enough conditions: at least 14 days of isolation, no symptoms disease and negative test results before returning.

According to Dr. Dung, many people without symptoms still need a negative test result before going home . In fact, in HCMC nearly 50% of cases diagnosed with nCoV were completely asymptomatic. Some people found the disease just the day they left the quarantine area even though they had tested negative one time before.

"Upon detection of infection in the second test, we have to investigate epidemiology, identify contact cases, assess risk and may require some cases to continue isolation and follow-up." , Dr. Dung analyzed.

Some people do not strictly abide by the rules, if they have ever had contact with an infected person during the time of isolation, forced to continue isolation despite having enough conditions to go home.

In order to limit the risk of pathogens to the public, the health sector is required to have the full results of all those who will leave the quarantine area on the same day.

Dr. Dung also shared the general mood that all people in quarantine in concentration areas are eager to end the time to return home soon. However, it is important to pay attention to safety not only for yourself but also for the family members and the whole community.

"We urge everyone, especially those in isolation and relatives, to spend a little more patience, share a little more difficulties, save a little more time in the isolation area for us to achieve together. a best result , " said Dr. Dung.

The doctor recommends that people who are eligible to leave the quarantine area still have to stay at home for another 14 days. Wear a mask, wash your hands with soap and water often. Limit contact and do not have close contact with household members. Self-monitoring of health, if signs of abnormalities must be reported to the local health for advice and support.

The Ho Chi Minh City Center for Disease Control has also prepared a plan to move thousands of people to complete the quarantine period, focusing on home on 1 April.

On the evening of 2/4, more than 200 people from the first group from abroad to Ho Chi Minh City were isolated and gathered home after 15 days in Division 317, with a second negative test result.
