Why do we never see an elephant's body in the forest?

We often see elephants walking in large swarms in the forest but never saw the elephants' bodies when they died? Why so?

Elephants are the largest animal in the jungle. Most of them are gentle animals and close to humans. Elephants currently have 3 main subspecies: Asian elephant, African forest elephant and African elephant.

At present, elephants are the largest mammal alive on the ground today. The heaviest elephant at the moment weighs 12,000 kg (26,400 pounds), which is a male elephant.

The elephant's life span is quite large, about 60-80 years. In prehistoric times, there were also existing elephants such as mammoths or the smallest elephants, the size of a calf or a large pig.

Elephants are the largest animal in the jungle.

These elephants are believed to have lived on the island of Crete until about 5000 BC, and possibly as early as 3000 BC.

At present, elephants are hunted aggressively for ivory. This has pushed them to the brink of extinction.

But when we explore the jungle anywhere, Africa, Asia, or the vast primeval forests, we can't see any of the bodies of a naturally old dead elephant.

We only meet the elephants that have been brutally slaughtered for their tusks. This is abnormal in the natural world, right?

Elephants are huge, so when they die, their corpses will undoubtedly become good prey for the predators in the jungle. Is that so we never see any elephants' corpses?

But the truth gives us an unexpected result. As you all know, elephants are one of the swarming species .

Their herds gather quite a lot, both for safety and to focus on foraging so their numbers can sometimes reach hundreds. When an elephant in the herd dies, it will be mourned by the whole herd.

This was witnessed by an English zoologist Haway Kelly on an afternoon of the 'burial ceremony' of the elephants.

Among the elephants is an old female elephant that is about to die. it can only stagger forward, eventually falling to the ground.

The other elephants in the herd see then go to, surround the other elephant. they let out sad sounds of farewell to their old friends.

While the other elephants stood around, the leading elephant used its trunk to rub over the dead elephant as a profound farewell.

When old, elephants are covered with other elephants in the herd of land and grass cover.

Finally, after they all sent their goodbyes to their friends, they covered the dead elephant with soil and grass .

It is a special form of burial for elephants. Because of this behavioral elephant, few of us could see the dead elephants.

In addition, the elephants in the herd also broke the tusks of the dead elephant, smashing that tusks into rocks or trunks for them to shatter. The cause of this behavior has not been explained by any of the scientists.

The act of burying the herd is a special act in the natural world. They represent a close bond between the animals in the pack.
