Why hasn't the northern summer been hot

Hot sunshine in the past days is in accordance with natural law, but it has a special feature that happens all over the country, meteorological experts said.

Although not yet in the summer, but one week through the hot sun has occurred almost all in the North and Central with the trend of increasing each by 0.5 to 1 degree C. The North has a differentiation between the two regions, in the North East. The highest peak temperature is 32-34 degrees Celsius, and Bao Lac (Cao Bang) station records 38 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the North West region has the highest thermal background of 35-37 degrees, some places 38 degrees C like Yen Chau and Muong La (Son La). Hanoi and the delta provinces remain high above 30 degrees C.

The Central region has a higher and popular heat level of 37-39 degrees, some places over 40 degrees such as Tuong Duong (Nghe An), Huong Khe (Ha Tinh), Dong Hoi (Quang Binh), Dong Ha (Quang Tri); Da Nang is up to 39-40 degrees C. The Central Highlands and the South are more than 38 degrees Celsius, such as: Ayunpa 40 degrees, Dong Phu and Long Khanh 38 degrees C.

On April 17, the weather pattern remained in the regions. From April 18, the hot sunshine ended, the Southeast only maintained the temperature of 35-37 degrees C.

" The hot sunshine is in accordance with the common law, " said Le Thanh Hai, deputy director of the National Meteorological Center and said last year at this time the meteorological agency had recorded 42 degrees Celsius. .

Mr. Hai said three causes of hot sun, firstly because the sun burned and appeared at the top of the South Central region, while the rainy season has not yet arrived; the second is due to the circulation of hot low pressure in the west and the third is the impact of windy phenomenon.

"As El Nino continues until June, this year the temperature is still higher than the average for many years. From the second half of April and May 2016, the average national temperature is higher than the average of many years. 1 to 1.5 degrees Celsius, " Hai said.

From June onwards, the average temperature is lower than last year because El Nino will enter the neutral and year-end period to La Nina . The heat in the North and Central will be concentrated from the second half of April to August.

Meteorological agency said that in the evening and night of April 17, cold air rushed to the North (including Hanoi), then invaded the North Central, causing widespread rain. During a thunderstorm there is the possibility of whirlwinds, hail and strong winds.

From April 18, the northern provinces turned cold.
