The rest of the exploded stars contain many very heavy atomic particles with dense density. This is the perfect condition for fast neutrons to be pressed into the central part of an atom to form a heavy element. And when neutron stars collide during the merger, the material that forms this element is ejected.

According to the research model, linking neutron stars has produced heavy elements necessary for the existence of galaxies.

Next, the team simulates the merger between stars containing neutrons and black holes - one of the right conditions to quickly acquire neutrons.

The other problem is how heavy atoms are present in ancient stars from the early days of the Milky Way.'We need some other source to form a group of elements in older superstars , ' Janka added.
