Woke up after 19 years of coma

A Polish railway worker fell into a trance after being hit by a train in 1988 after waking up after 19 years. The 65-year-old Jan Grzebski confided to Polish TV that he survived because of his wife's love - Mrs. Gertruda.

A Polish railway worker fell into a trance after being hit by a train in 1988 after waking up after 19 years. The 65-year-old Jan Grzebski confided to Polish TV that he survived because of his wife's love - Mrs. Gertruda.

Mrs. Gertruda maintained the care day and night for 19 years, Jan. She turned him every hour to avoid ulcers. Mrs. Gertruda acknowledged there were desperate moments in her long years of caring for her husband. She said: "I pray every day in tears and every night I bite to cry so no one can hear it."

Mr. Jan Grzebski showed his first signs of recovery in April this year. He has now been taken to hospital in Dzialdow to undergo recovery and is bringing about remarkable results.

On June 2, Pstragowsk rehabilitation expert for Polish television knew after the first few days of recovery that he started talking, as well as moving fingers and toes. Mr. Jan Grzebski said that during the coma, he had a vague memory of family members amid his wife and children trying to contact him.

Mr. Jan Grzebski woke up to see all four of his children married and he had 11 grandchildren.
