World's first floating wind power generation station

According to the website of the organization of physicists, StatoiHydro Norway Company on September 8 announced that the world's first floating-type wind power station will be put to use in the North Sea near the Norwegian coast.

According to the company Statoi Hydro introduced, the type of floating wind generator named ' Hywind ' has a height of 65m, weighing 5300 tons, located at a distance of nearly 10km away from Karmoey island on the southwestern coast of Norway. The generator Hywind is placed on a floating pedestal reinforced by 3 fixed burial cables on the seabed, in the floating pedestal placed with water and stone to maintain balance. StatoilHydro plans to conduct a test of Hywind generators in the next two years, then look for international cooperation partners, to provide a variety of floating wind generators.

Japan, South Korea, the East Coast of the US and Spain are potential markets for this company, hoping to export new technologies to these countries. Hywind generator can be used in waters with a depth of 120 ~ 700m. Moreover, compared to fixed wind power generators, it can also be placed further away.

Anne Stroemmen Lycke - StatoiHydro company employee said in an interview: ' The floating wind generator has all its superior features .' She said: ' If standing at the shore is almost impossible to see them, it can be placed in places that do not affect others. We can use this type of wind power generator in some countries, such as those with nearshore areas with very deep water levels or those that have not built wind power generators. land. '

Hywind generator has a generating capacity of 2.3 megawatts, total investment for the project is about 66 million USD, the price is much higher than fixed wind generator. However, Stroemmen Lycke said: ' Our goal is to lower the cost of this type of generator by the price of a fixed wind generator, and the new type of fixed current wind generator. only installed in places where the depth is 60m. ' Germany's Technip and Siemens are involved in the wind power generator project Hywind. StatoilHydro said the Hywind wind generator will officially generate electricity in the next few weeks.
