New technology helps reduce wind power costs
The biggest difficulty for Vietnam to achieve the goal of increasing the rate of electricity production from wind energy from 3.5% in 2010 to 4.5% in 2020 and 6.0% in 2030 is the price problem. electricity is still high. However, the technology of '2-layer coaxial wing' (YnS-W) has been introduced by the New Vietnam - Russia Technology Company Limited in Ho Chi Minh City. Ho Chi Minh may be an open way to reduce wind power costs.

This technology was developed from the idea of a two-layer propeller in military aircraft in Russia and was registered for a patent in Russia in April 2011. Only 2 months later, Vietnam has approached this type of technology, and signed with Russian partners in the form of technology access project.
YnS-W technology has many advantages compared to current three-blown wind power technology. With two layers of wings (5 wings / layer), the turbine will get more wind, the coefficient of wind energy utilization is from 0.6 to 0.8 (this coefficient of conventional turbine is from 0.2 to 0) , 3), the average annual electricity output is 2.5 times higher than the remaining wind power technologies. Furthermore, the YnS-W turbine can operate at full capacity with an average wind speed of only 7-8m / s (popular in Vietnam). On the other hand, the YnS-W turbine sound frequency when operating comes from 20-40Hz (similar to the rustle of tree leaves), without damaging human health and the surrounding environment.
In the short term, the Russian partners will manufacture 3 turbines with capacity of 1MW for Vietnam. After successful testing, Vietnam - Russia New Technology Co., Ltd. is allowed to master this technology. It is expected that the company will establish a factory in Hiep Phuoc Industrial Park (Nha Be district) to mass produce wind power equipment such as turbines, cylinders, propellers . for other wind power projects.
