Yahoo released a message submission fix
The Yahoo company has just provided a patch to block dangerous errors in Yahoo Messenger messages. Hackers can take advantage of these errors to kidnap the user's system.
The update was released by Yahoo after nearly a day when an anonymous hacker posted the exploit code and detailed information on the new security vulnerability.
Security company eEye said it was a memory overflow error in the ActiveX driver. Hackers can take advantage of it to remotely execute code by "injecting" malicious code onto websites and tricking users into accessing it. The faulty version includes Yahoo Messenger 8.0 and 8.1 for Windows.
Yahoo recommends that anyone who uses the Messenger version before 8-6 days should download the update as quickly as possible. Details can be found here.
