In many parts of the world, children's rights are not protected (Photo: colorado.edu) After being rescued, Om launched a free education campaign in his hometown of Rajastan, then established a network. known as ' friendly villages for children '. In these places, children's rights are respected and child labor is not allowed.

Om also does many things to ensure children are granted birth certificates as a way to protect them from being trafficked, enslaved, forced to marry or childish soldiers.

Last October, India - home to more than 12 million child workers - has introduced a new law that prohibits children under the age of 14 from doing things like assisting in a home or working in restaurants and hotels.

The $ 100,000 International Children's Peace Prize is donated by Kids Rights, an organization based in the Netherlands. This year is the second year the award is given.

A free outdoor concert was held at Dam Square (Amsterdam) last night (November 19) in honor of Om and the boy's message.
