The World Health Organization has reported that 3 more children have died outside the country in connection with two batches of hepatitis B vaccine produced by LG Korea.

On May 23, Dr. Cao Minh Quang - Deputy Minister of Health led the announcement of the World Health Organization (WHO), saying that up to now, 6 children in the world have died due to two batches of vaccines. Hepatitis B UVX 05028 and UVX 06006 are manufactured by LG Korea.

6 above children, including 3 children in Vietnam, 2 children in the Philippines and 1 child in Bangladesh. Dr. Quang said this was a very rare and unusual incident with the worldwide vaccination program.

On the same day, Dr. Do Si Hien - Chairman of the Vietnam Expanded Immunization Program said that after receiving the information, he contacted a WHO representative in Vietnam. The WHO in Vietnam said it would contact WHO headquarters in Switzerland to confirm the incident and have officially notified the Ministry of Health of Vietnam on May 24.

Currently, the mission of WHO is also present in Korea to check the technical line and the vaccine production line of hepatitis B vaccine produced by LG.
