3,600-year-old gold and silver pitchers in Israel

Gold and silver antiques were found in the excavation area of Tel Gerez, Israel, possibly a sacrifice to connect the two gods of Canaanite and Egyptians.

The Israeli Antiquities Agency and the Israeli Nature and Parks Organization said on November 14 that it found a container of gold and silver antiques dating from 3,600 years ago, during the Canaanite era, in the excavation area of Tel Gezer , Israel, according to Jerusalem Post. They claim that these artifacts are in the ritual performed at the archaeological center of the excavated building.

The antiquities are housed in a Chinese vase, outside wrapped with intact cloth despite experiencing a humid climate. Three of the 5 artifacts found were severely corroded, making it difficult for scientists to study.

In the other two antiques there is a silver medal engraved with an 8-pointed star. According to archaeologists, this is a symbol of the Canaanite gods.

The second artifact is a golden framed seal of Egypt, originating from the Hyskos period, around 1650 BC. Researchers believe that the number of artifacts found is one of the sacrifices to connect the two gods of Canaanite and Egypt.

" Gezer is one of Israel's most important cities during the Canaanite era. Finding an antiquarian vase is an important step to provide information about the culture of Canaanite people in Israel 3,600 years ago , " Shaul Goldstein , general manager of Israel Nature and Parks, commented.
