Photo of British photographer Terry Steeley taking a diver exploring Bill's Hole's natural sinkhole in the Taj Mahal mangrove forest, Mexico won the top prize of the British Association's Underwater Photographer Contest 2014.

The jury member Steve Jones commented on The Independent's photograph of Steeley's 'beautiful light, mysterious and fascinating underwater space'.

Divers in the natural sinkhole Bill's Hole, Mexico - Photo won the highest prize of the competition

He shared during the 2014 vacation in Mexico that he was lucky to capture the above image in the clear sky, light 'like dancing' when penetrating the water coming below the natural sinkhole.

Steeley is an experienced diver, who began his passion for underwater photography in 1997, diving in the Bahamas, Maldives, Philippines, Egypt, South Africa, Alaska, Thailand and Indonesia.
