American try missile interception failure

News agencies reported that the US missile interceptor test off the Pacific Ocean on May 25 failed.

In the experiment, the target missile, assumed to be the " enemy " long-range missile, launched from Alaska, did not reach the test area before an interceptor missile could be launched from California as expected. Under the plan, the interceptor missile will collide with the target missile - an old-style intercontinental ballistic missile, on the Pacific Ocean.

The US military is trying to understand the cause of the incident. The US missile defense agency described the test as "incomplete", instead of the phrase "failed". The agency said it will conduct a retest at a suitable time this summer.

Currently, the United States has two interceptor missile regions in California and Alaska. Since last year, the Bush administration has been negotiating with many allied nations in Europe to find the third location to contain the country's interceptor missiles.
