NBC News says ISSpresso can be used to mix lung espresso and other hot beverages like tea. The design of the coffee machine meets the different conditions of zero weight environment. Plastic pipe parts are often used to heat water in the earth phase machines to be replaced by other materials to withstand high pressure.
According to experts, ISSpresso not only contributes to the diversification of beverages according to the needs of astronauts, but also as part of the hydrodynamic study (fluid dynamics) in the environment. no gravitation.
ISSpresso will be put on the ISS this November, together with the European Space Agency (ESA) spacecraft's Samantha Cristoforetti starting the research process here.
Drinks included in the ISS include soft drinks, tea and coffee, and are processed in dry and packaged form. Astronauts will add water and use straws to avoid spilling out.
