Angler catches rare Koi fish, 40 years old, shocking weight
While fishing on the lake, a male angler suddenly caught a 40-year-old Koi fish, the weight of which surprised many people.
It's rare to catch a fish that's older than you but that's exactly what happened when Kyle B caught the rare Koi from Linear Fisheries in Oxfordshire, England.
The 10kg Koi fish that Kyle caught.
According to Angling Times, while fishing in Lake St. John , Kyle decided to move towards an area where he and a friend spotted some fish swimming. They dropped bait in that area and after a short while, the fish took the bait.
Kyle said: 'I pulled one fish up and it started acting strangely, with very short jerks and then nothing happened. It didn't take long to get it in the net, and when I looked at it, I knew it was something special.
I had no idea there was a Koi like this in St. John and later found out that it was probably the same age or older than me. It weighed 10kg and it was one of the most memorable fish I have ever caught."
It is known that this Koi fish is one of the oldest fish here and is at least 35-40 years old.
