The FBI's investigation also targeted hackers who "kidnapped" about 50 servers for the purpose of phishing attacks and stealing user account information.

Of the 16 arrested this time, three live in the US, 11 live in Poland and the rest live in Romania. However, the subjects living in Romania are still only suspected, the FBI does not have much information to confirm the offense of these people.

' Cybercriminals are now not confined to the territory of a country but they have expanded to a global scale ,' said James Finch, FBI's assistant director of cybercrime.
