In case of overpayment, the machine will refund the excess. The machine also accepts payment of tuition fees in multiple installments through data storage and collation functions.

Automatic tuition receivers are produced by four students: Nguyen Van Truong, Van Minh Huong, Nguyen Huu Huan, Nguyen Van Dai in the Department of Mechatronics, HCM City University of Technical Education. Four students completed the machine under the guidance of Dr. Nguyen Truong Thinh.

Currently, the device can only recognize money with a face value of 5,000 - 100,000 VND. In particular, the machine has the ability to detect counterfeit money. In addition, the device also integrates the function of printing receipts, communicating by automatic messages, searching and printing timetable, exam schedule, transcripts. According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Do Van Dung, Vice Rector of the University of Technical Education, the school is considering ordering this automatic fee collection machine to put it into operation at the school.
