Ballpoint pen can read and speak

What do you think of a pen that can read what your child writes and plays back through a speaker? That is the new product launched in the US Leapfrog week.

The pen, called the Pen Fly , is both a toy and a computer, both entertaining and educational

$ 99.99 pen, for students aged 8-13, has a small camera mounted on the ball. This camera will keep track of what you write and translate in other languages. The pen will talk to you through a small speaker, or via headphones attached.

The pen also has the following capabilities:

- Draw a computer on the page. Hit the calculation and the pen will produce the result.

- Draw a small piano keyboard. When you type in each key, the pen emits the corresponding sound.

With higher education functions, you need to buy a headset connected to the pen head. Three $ 24.99 to $ 34.99 will teach you spelling, math and Spanish.

The drawback of the pen is that you have to use Leapfrog's special paper, with small printed dots that allow the camera to track the path of the pen. This special paper is 21x27.5 cm in size and $ 9.99 / set.
