When opened, the length of the gun increased to 635 mm. The gun has a base mass of about 3.15kg with a 190.5mm barrel configuration.

The design of the gun promotes mobility and flexibility in combat, very suitable for domestic security forces, special forces against terrorism or hostage rescue. Depending on the version, SCAR-SC only has a semi-automatic shot mode or custom firing mode via a key lever on the main handle. The gun's ammunition is designed for right-handed gunners.

The multi-rail design allows SCAR-SC to attach more accessories. Perhaps the gunner will prefer a red point viewfinder rather than a viewfinder - the default equipped fly point.

In addition, the gun is also compatible with vertical handles, tactical flashlights, laser indicators or a silencer. The best accessories of the gun tested and certified by the Herstal FN, will be accurate and durable in all combat situations.

The viewpoint - the default fly point of the gun is mounted on Picatinny rail in 12-hour direction, foldable when not in use. This viewfinder can also adjust the range, compensate for wind and altitude through a few small adjustments. It also supports accurate shooting with gunners using bulletproof caps, when the gunner must aim through a thick layer of glass.

SCAR-SC uses scabbing instead of folding like previous generations.

Most of SCAR-SC's maintenance and repair operations are the same as previous versions, only the design of the scraper is slightly different. Instead of using the traditional folds, the gun uses a two-bar grip with a thick back pad. SCAR-SC's new flap is suitable for compact size as well as cutting gun volume.
