Believe it: This deep smoking cave was dug by giant creatures in ancient times
Experts have found many huge caves, believed to be the work of many of the extinct giants.
Before humanity appeared, the Earth was dominated by countless large animals. And the legacy they leave is not just priceless fossils. In South America, people found long tunnels that were deeply sucked, believed to be the work of the extinct giants.
These caves, called " ancient cave " (paleotocas or paleoburrow), were first found in Argentina in the late 1920s. But recently, Brazilian experts - like Professor Heinrich Frank and Amilcar Adamy , have excavated many more tunnels in their country.
So what are the creatures that have dug them? According to the researchers, it is likely that the extinct giant land sloths were more than 11,000 years ago - like the species Glossotherium. At that time, the Amazon forest was a large far-field meadow, dominated by giant creatures such as ancient crocodiles, elephant mastodons (with them with mammoth elephants), and the above-mentioned cave animals.
Since the discovery, experts have to work hard to learn, study and explain this strange work, because they can provide very important information.
" With animal fossils, we don't know how they live, how they behave, live in communities or alone, " Frank said. " That's why the ancient cave is really important ."
The trail in the cave will tell us more about the behavior of giant creatures in the past.
Currently, there are more than 2,000 underground caves found. They have 3 sizes: 0,8m, 1,2m and 2m, usually about 60m deep.
Experts estimate that the age of the caves falls between 8,000 and 10,000 years ago, or possibly older.
