On May 7, in Dong Nai, the National Agricultural Extension Center (Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) cooperated with Dong Nai People's Committee to organize the Agriculture and Agricultural Extension Forum with the theme 'Use probiotics in livestock ".

The forum was attended by scientists and representatives of the livestock industry in the southern provinces and cities.

Currently pork, beef and chicken production in Vietnam is 4 million tons / year, of which pork accounts for 3 million tons. Recently, farmers are facing many difficulties such as high prices of food and veterinary drugs, various diseases and environmental pollution.

In addition, the abuse of weight gainers, leaners and antibiotics causes these chemicals to remain in meat and eggs products, affecting human health. In fact, consumers' turn away from pork products has caused more than 2,000 billion VND damage to farmers.

In addition, every day at pig farms emit about 5 tons of manure and waste water. This amount of fertilizer is currently being used for cultivation, but improper handling of vegetables causes worm eggs and harmful microorganisms, affecting users' health.

On the market today there are more than 200 biological products used in livestock to balance intestinal microflora, help digestion well, reduce the rate of disease-causing organisms, stimulate the immune system, thereby controlling the infectious diseases and reduce environmental pollution.

According to Associate Professor, Dr. Lam Minh Thuan (Ho Chi Minh City Agriculture and Forestry University), the use of natural inoculants such as ginger, turmeric and garlic replaces antibiotics in chicken farming to help this type of poultry transform. Metabolism, at the same time improve disease resistance, create clean, safe meat for users and bring high economic efficiency in livestock.

In raising pigs, the use of garlic and turmeric according to scientists helps to improve growth as well as feed conversion ratio, reducing cost per kg of weight gain compared to pigs using antibiotics. With the use of food, many scientists evaluate, if the breeders use fermented feed by ' Enzymes ', it will help cattle and poultry grow well and gain weight quickly; reduce consumption and food costs; reduce incidence; Create a clean environment.

In fact, in Dong Thap province, over the years, thanks to Balasa N01 bio-product , the breeding industry of this province has limited toxic waste into the environment.

Ms. Ngo Xuan Huong (Dong Thap Agricultural and Fishery Extension Center) said that the use of Balasa N01 yeast has many benefits such as resolving urine discharged by livestock, limiting stench, inhibiting and digesting. kill the development of harmful organisms, protect animal health; saving about 80% of water in livestock because there is no need to use cleaning water or bathing animals; Save 50% of workers by not needing to clean and bathe pets daily. In particular, farmers use Balasa N01 yeast to produce meat products that are hygienic in color, smell and taste.

In Dong Nai, nearly 100% of pig and chicken farms have applied biological products. In the province, there are many good models of using biological products in animal husbandry, such as the raising of chicken with herbs by Ms. Cao Thi Len in Phu Ngoc commune, Dinh Quan district.

After more than a year of implementation, Ms. Len has raised many chickens with herbs. With the selling price of VND 50,000 / kg, Ms. Len's herbal chicken is well received by consumers because of the higher quality of meat compared to conventional chickens. Currently her farm has two herbal chicken houses, with more than 5,000 children.

According to the National Agricultural Extension Center, the use of probiotics in livestock has been widely accepted around the world.

In Vietnam, biological products have also been applied at many farms. However, for small scale producers, breeding with probiotics is still a strange thing.
