Big heads are signs of autism

Children with autism have higher growth hormone levels, explaining why they often have larger heads. Children with this disease are also heavier than others without disease, the research team announced at the National Institutes of Health and the National Center for Disease Control.

Previous studies have shown that autistic children have a very early growth in the first few years. So far, no one knows the cause of autism - a complex developmental disorder, which manifests poor social communication.

Symptoms can range from mild (as slow to react) to severe as mental retardation and impotence. A recent survey by the US Agency for Disease Control found that one in every 150 children living in the United States has autism or autism disorder - a milder form of the disease.

In the study, Dr. James Mills and colleagues compared height, weight, head circumference and growth hormone levels in 71 sick boys with 59 healthy boys.

As a result, autism has 2 hormones that are directly related to higher growth. They also have hormone levels that indirectly affect higher growth.

In addition, autistic children have higher average head circumference and weight.

The research team did not understand girls because the risk of this disease was much lower than that of boys, and also because they did not find enough candidates to join.
