The Horton Plains are considered extinct for more than 60 years because scientists cannot recognize their occurrence. The animal with its small body and big eyes has only been seen four times since 1937 until now.

However, in 2002, the scientists had discovered "Coton Plains" by the reflection of light in the eyes of the animals. The main cause of the extinction risk of the Horton Plains is the destruction of natural forests for tea plantations.

Scientists from the London Zoological Society in the process of taking photos of rare animals in the world to determine their survival in nature captured the image of this Horton Plains loris. . It is an image of a male loris Horton Plains, mature with long, thick fur characterized by large eyes and short limbs sitting on a branch.

The researchers caught the loris after more than 1,000 searches with more than 200 hours of diligent photography in Sri Lanka forest at night. The team not only captured the image of this rare primate, but also caught the three Horton Plains loris to carry out the test, taking data about them.

"We had the first picture of this primate and demonstrated the existence of the loris Horton Plains, especially when they have disappeared for 65 years ," said Dr Craig Turner, a biologist in the research group. rescue said.

Culi Horton Plains are small nocturnal primates found only in tropical forests in South India and Sri Lanka. They have a length of 15 - 25cm with eyes like 'flying saucers' that help observe and catch prey at night.

According to scientists' estimates, this primates only have about 100 individuals worldwide, putting it in the situation of endangered endangered organisms. However, according to scientists, it is rare to see the Horton Plains loris. Therefore, the remaining number of this species is only about 60 individuals and become the most rare primate species in the world.
