China aspires to build the first solar power plant in space
Chinese scientists are planning to build the world's first space-based solar power plant.
According to CGTN, the experimental construction work of this ambitious project was started in Chongqing, Southwest China a few weeks ago.

Under this project, the solar power plant will be installed on Earth orbit , at an altitude of about 36,000km. Due to being built in space, this plant can make solar energy without being affected by the atmosphere or seasonal factors, day and night.
If successfully built, the plant could provide clean energy to perform space exploration or downstream operations on Earth to power hundreds of millions of households.
Chinese authorities aim to bring small or medium-sized solar power plants into space by 2030 and will install large-scale plants by 2030.
In addition to China, some countries such as the US and Japan have also experimented with space solar stations. However, until now, these projects are in the beginning stage.
