China develops the world's largest four-legged biological robot

Earlier, on January 14, China Central Television (CCTV) reported that, walking on four legs and having the appearance of a yak, the robot independently developed by China is the largest of its kind. the world's heaviest and most capable for off-road performance.

Judging from the reportage clips, experts say that this machine is approximately half the height of an adult when walking and the length is about twice the height.

CCTV reports it can carry up to 160kg and despite its large size it can run at 10km per hour.

The 'mechanical cow' is equipped with sensors to recognize the terrain and surroundings. It has shown very good adaptability to a variety of terrains such as terraces, moats and cliffs, not to mention muddy roads, grasslands, deserts and snow.

Thanks to 12 sets of articulated modules, the robot can move forward and backward, turn, diagonally, sprint, dash and jump.

According to CCTV, the four-legged biorobot can be deployed to deliver bombs, ammunition and food in environments such as plateaus, mountains, deserts and jungles where it is difficult for conventional vehicles to pass.

Another potential application of this robot is close-in reconnaissance. It can continuously gather intelligence on the battlefield and track target movements even in complex environments that have proven overwhelming for humans.

A Chinese military expert, who asked to remain anonymous, commented that the 'mechanical cow' is a perfect choice for missions in remote border areas where constant monitoring is required but conditions are not favorable for the presence of people. habitual human presence, for example in highlands, glacial regions, and dense forests.

It will also play an important role in high-risk combat areas, as it can replace human reconnaissance and delivery missions, helping to avoid unfortunate casualties.

If necessary, the robot can also be armed and conduct armed reconnaissance missions, like a drone, but only on the ground, the expert said.

The 'mechanical cow' is not the only four-legged biological robot that China has developed. CCTV reported that China also has a biological robot dog named Geda.

The robot dog is about the same size in real life. It weighs 32kg, but can carry up to 40kg of cargo.

According to CCTV, Geda is programmed to understand simple voice commands and use facial recognition. It passed the tests to go through jungle, rocky road, narrow road and single plank bridge.

Analysts say China will develop more biological robots and take advantage of them in combat.
