AC313 took off from Lumeng Airport, Jingdezhen City (Jiangxi Province, eastern China) at 9:40 am local time and landed at 10:15 am. The test flight is reported live on local television.
Sun Cong, deputy chief engineer of China Aerospace Industries (AICC), said AC313 has a maximum load of 13.8 tons, carrying 27 passengers or 15 injured, with a maximum flight distance of 900km. .
The AC313 is designed for a variety of purposes, from search, rescue, fire fighting to fire suppression in densely populated cities.
AICC is a state-owned enterprise specializing in the design and manufacture of weapons and equipment for the Chinese Air Force.
