French company Swincar has developed a 4-wheel electric vehicle called the e-Spider with a unique design and the ability to move on many terrains, New Atlas on February 21 reported. This "spider car" model currently has two more versions named e-Spider Tandem and e-Spider Mobility.
The e-Spider features motors in each wheel and suspension that makes it easy to maneuver through uneven areas. Each wheel can be raised much higher than the belly of the vehicle, allowing the vehicle to maneuver through trenches while maintaining the cabin's stability.
e-Spider moves not fast. The original version has a capacity of only 4 kW with a speed of about 30 km / h. However, it moves very flexibly, can climb more than 50% slope and adjust the position of the wheels according to the terrain.
e-Spider is equipped with an engine in each wheel.
The Tandem version has an extra passenger seat, separate brake levers for the rear wheels, reinforced suspension and a more powerful engine with a capacity of 6 kW. Meanwhile, the Mobility version is geared towards people with disabilities. This version is equipped with a reclining seat, seat belts and the ability to rotate the car's articulated legs 90 degrees to help the driver easily move from the wheelchair to the driver's seat.
Vehicle versions of Swincar have been licensed to run on the road. In France, the car is classified as an agricultural vehicle with a street speed limit of 25 km/h. In other European countries, the car is allowed to go up to 45 km/h.
Swincar is expanding its global sales network and e-Spider is already present in many places in Europe, Turkey, Dubai, Kenya, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and USA. Some places also rent cars to experience. The regular e-Spider is priced at $14,200, the Tandem is priced at around $17,000, and Mobility can be customized on request.
