According to the BBC news agency, the golden saddles (scientific name Parupeneus cyclostomus ), a tropical fish in the Indian Ocean - Pacific region, hunted according to the collective method. In it, a fish chases after its prey, while the other fish blockade the escape routes.

Discovering this unusual combination of behavior, scientists have placed this fish in a group of high-class animals with collective hunting capabilities.

Scientists at the University of Neuchatel (Switzerland) are studying the aforementioned fish in the Red Sea, off the coast of Egypt, to learn more about their social structure.

This fish lives in groups based on size rather than family relationships, in which fish of similar size form a group. According to experts, this allows them to coordinate more smoothly and synchronously.

Each fish has a specific role in the hunt, either "chase" or "deterrent" , said Redouan Bshary, the team leader.

According to the expert, the same behavior is determined to exist in only a few animals, mostly mammals, but has also been observed in some birds.

'Very few fish are seen working together' , Mr. Bshary stressed.
