Detecting underground river below

Brazilian scientists have discovered an underground river at a depth of about 4,000 meters below the Amazon.

Brazil's national observatory announces that the river flows from west to east, in the same direction as the famous Amazon River. They named it Hamza, the AP reported.

Elizabeth Pimentel, a researcher of the Brazilian National Observatory, and her colleagues confirmed the existence of the underground river after examining 241 oil-rich Petrobras wells in the Amazon region.

The Amazon and Hazma rivers have the same flow, but they have many other points. For example, the flow rate of the Hazma river is lower and it flows into the underground ocean.

'It is very likely that the Hazma River is the cause of low salinity around the mouth of the Amazon River ,' said the Brazilian National Observatory.

The Amazon rainforest is a forest in the Amazon basin of South America. With an area of ​​about 5.5 million square kilometers (accounting for 50% of the total area of ​​tropical forests throughout the planet), it is the largest forest on the surface of the globe. So people often call the Amazon forest the "lung of the world".

In addition to the Hazma underground river, scientists have discovered "flying rivers" in the Amazon area. They were a giant aura that carried steam in the air. These airflows carry steam from the Amazon basin to areas in the south, including northern Argentina. Their steam created most of the rain in Brazil.
