Believers in the New Age theory suggest that the Mayans predicted the earth to perish on December 21, 2012. In Turkey, apocalypse believers think that Sirince, a village with a population of about 600 people near the ancient city of Ephesus in the west of the country, can help them escape death in the apocalypse. The Christian believed that Mary Mary flew to heaven in a place near the village of Sirince, so the village had a special energy, AFP reported.

The number of visitors to Sirince village soared in recent days. Local media predict that more than 60,000 visitors will arrive in the village in the coming days.

'This is the first time we have seen tourists interested in the village in the winter. My hotel reservations believe that Sirince's special energy will save them during the apocalypse, ' said Ilkan Gulgun, a hotel owner in the village of Sirince.

Sirince, an ancient village, famous for its luxury hotels and wine. Erkan Onoglu, a village businessman, created a wine called 'Apocalypse' to serve tourists, the Radikal daily reported.

Ibrahim Katan, a hotel owner at Sirince, was happy that tourists flocked to the village. He hoped that the faith of the apocalyptic believers would help the people in the village get a great benefit.

'Apocalyptic rumors make the number of tourists in the village soar. We feel very happy , 'he said.
