Discover the largest Siki gibbon population in Vietnam
On March 23, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park Rescue and Science Center (PN-KB), Quang Binh Province, said that 41 surveyed Siki gibbon groups (Nomascus leucogenys siki) were recorded through surveys. is the largest Siki gibbon population in Vietnam.

Of 41 Siki gibbon groups discovered, there are 37 herds belonging to Phong Nha - Ke Bang territory. 4 other groups on the other side of the Ho Chi Minh Road boundary are located in the forest of Bo Trach Forest Enterprise (Quang Binh).
Through sound analysis and field observations, researchers said 115 Siki gibbons were found.
In addition to the number of 41 Siki gibbon groups detected, there are 10 brown-shanked douc langur with 137 individuals.
This is the Siki gibbon population and the most valuable brown-shanked douc langur in Vietnam.
Siki gibbons and brown-shanked douc langur are rare and precious animals in the world red book and Vietnam Red Book. Two species of this rare primate are ranked ranks E (endangered) in the Red Book of Vietnam and the world needs conservation development.
This is a result achieved in the framework of implementing the project 'Improving scientific research capacity of Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park staff and surveying Siki gibbon populations organized by FFI (Fauna and Flora International). support
