According to the IB Times, the treasure dates from around the 17th century. The team believes that the silver comes from the wreck of a shipwreck by William Kidd, one of the notorious pirates who operated in Madagascar.

Kidd was executed in 1701 after returning to England from a trip in the Indian Ocean. Apart from pirates, this guy also committed murder. Kidd's body was then hung on a high pillar between the Thames, to warn anyone who intended to be a pirate.

According to legend, Kidd hid most treasures . The hunt has been done for years.
