Archaeologists in the Czech Republic have discovered a 5,000-year-old remains that they believe belong to a gay caveman.
The skeleton of a man with pots placed near his feet.
The body of the man, believed to date from 2,900 to 2,500 BC, was buried according to the ritual commonly used for Stone Age women.
The remains were found on a suburb of Prague, Czech Republic, with the head facing east, surrounded by vases, which were only found earlier in women's graves.
Professor Kamila Vesinova, who leads the excavation team, believes that this ancient man is a gay person.
'From history and ethnography, we know that people from that era performed burial rituals very carefully, so it is unlikely that this burial is mistaken. Most likely, this is an unusual, homosexual or transgender man , "Vesinova said.
According to the culture at the end of the Stone Age, men were often buried with the head facing west and the women headed east.
Men are often buried with items such as weapons, hammers, stone knives, and some parts of food and water placed next to them. Women are often buried with necklaces, ear rings, as well as egg-shaped pots and jars placed near their feet.
Ordinary cars are found in the tomb of an ancient woman.
' What we see here is not the same as the traditional cultural rites of that period. Items associated with burial rites for women were found near the foot of the remains, while the objects often accompanied by burial rites for men were absent . '
' We believe this is one of the oldest cases of a homosexual or third world ' in the Czech Republic, Katerina Semradova, another member of the archaeological group, said during the press conference. 5/4.
Ms Semradova also said that archaeologists had previously discovered an earlier case from the Stone Age when a female warrior was buried like a male.
