Discovering super Earth could be very close to us

A team of scientists led by Professor Georg Drezler from Georg-August University (Germany) has identified a star named Gilese 1061 as the center of a unique "Solar System" with three planets. In terms of our proximity to the Sun, Gilese 1061 is the 20th ranked star.

Gilese 1061 is a red dwarf that weighs only 0.12 times the sun, is 7 years old and has a much weaker activity than our parent star. However, its "children" are three large super-Earths and have masses of 1.4 to 1.8 times the mass of Earth.
The most noticeable of the three super-Earths is Gilese 1061d , a rocky planet located entirely within the habitation of its parent star and possibly having oceans just like Earth. Weighing about 1.7 times the mass of Earth and the energy equivalent of the Earth's energy, scientists believe it has a balanced temperature like the Earth.
In other words, Gilese 1061d may be an extraterrestrial object. Remarkably, the planetary system Gilese 1061 is only 12 light-years away, a close distance from the exoplanets ever discovered. This gap is a great opportunity for scientists to learn more about this habitable super Earth.
The biggest difference is that in Gilese 1061d, a year only lasted 13 days of the earth because it is close to the parent star. But this is unknowingly a moderate distance for it to receive enough energy from the parent star, because as analyzed, Gilese 1061 is very weak. This supernova is also the most distant star in the Gilese 1061 system.
Detailed research will be published in an upcoming issue of the Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
