Dogfish get tightened by plastic rings near their double ends

The picture of a fish caught by a plastic ring in the middle of the body was discovered by the Canadian river fisher and attracted a lot of attention on social networks.

Adam Turnbull found the fish with a mid-body plastic ring on the Saskatchewan River in Alberta, Canada, on October 28, according to IFL Science. Turnbull shares fish photos on personal Facebook, receiving nearly 15,000 shares and over 400 comments.

When checking the fish, Turnbull noticed the plastic ring tightened around the northern dog's abdomen, and the animal still developed its head and tail. After cutting off the plastic ring and taking some photos, Turnball freed the fish.

It seems that the fish was trapped inside the ring from a young age. According to Turnball, the bracelet comes from a beverage product. Through the incident, Turnball also urged people to raise awareness and stop littering indiscriminately.

Pollution of plastic waste is one of the serious environmental problems. There are many large plastic waste islands across a country in the oceans and most of the waste takes hundreds of years to decompose. Small pieces of plastic can cause sea creatures to choke or get into their bodies through the gastrointestinal tract. When people eat fish swallowing plastic particles, the amount of plastic accumulates in our bodies.
